Not only Riverquare Brigge but Pai Bridge in Mae Hong Son also has its own story of the Japanese troop building their way to Burma during World War 2. There is a Japanese War Museum in Khunyuam displaying remains of the soldier ambulances, guns, cars etc. Last but not least is that there is no bad impression of Japanese soldiers here. It is more on the friendships and the native people helped the Japanese soldiers during their retreat from losing war in Burma.
