CAR RENT TO VISIT TOURIST SPOTS IN MAE HONG SON

Half-day Trip in Town / Vicinity:  700 (US$ 1=36 Baht)
* Wat Pratat Doi Gongmoo on top of the hill to see the bird eye view of Mae Hong Son City.
* Wat Pranon to worship the Declining Buddha at the foot of Gongmoo Hill.
* Wat Jongkam to worship Luangpor To buddha.
* Wat Jongklang another temple near by, to see the ceramic paintings and the museum.
* Wat Huawiang at center of town, to admire the Shan Style Vihara.
* Wat Pangmoo 6 km from town to see the folk arts.
* The longneck village at Huaysuethao (admission fee 250 Baht/person). Optional: take the boat trip to Ban Nampiangdin at Ban Huaydue. Boat service is 500 Baht lump sum, for up to 8 people. The admission fee at the front gate of Longneck village is also 250 Baht per person.

One-day Trip Uphill: 70 km. Baht 2000
* Longneck Karen village at Ban Naisoi (Admission fee 250 Baht/person).
* Elephant Drive (optional, 400 Baht for 2 persons. Aout 1 hour trip to near by jungle.
* Phasue Waterfall.
* Pangtong Palace (need permission with fees 25 Baht/person).
* Hmong village at Ban Huay Makuesom.
* Shan village Ban Ruam Thai.
* Forest station at Pang-Ung, lake, pine forest and flowers.
* Ban Mae-Aw, the chinese Guamintang Village, famous for tea plantation and Yunnan Food.

One-day Trip Up North: 90 km Baht 2500

* Peeman Cave: see the ancient coffins made of teak wood over 2,000 years. Climbing up to the cave about 50 meters high.
* Lod cave: See amazing forms of stalagmites and stalagtites; dolls, pillars, curtains etc. There is also ancient painting of a dear and the hunter. The last part of the cave has ancient teak coffins but mostly deteriorated. Admission fee for the guide with lantern is 100 Baht for the group of 4 persons. The last part there is bamboo rafting out of Lod cave also 100 Baht for 4 persons. In the morning and evening, watch the swifts and bats in and out of the cave, about half an hour.
* Near by is the hilltribe villages such as Bokrai and Loogkaolam.
* For professional trekkers, Maelana Cave is the most challenging one about 14 km long. This cave is not open for public and very dangerous if not accompanied by the professional guide.

One-day Trip Down South: 110 km Baht 2000

* View point.
* Lady Slippers Orchid Conservation Center.
* Maesurin Waterfall (100 meters high) viewed from opposite hill (admission fee 200 Baht).
* Trekking down to the bottom pool about 2 hrs. round trip (optional).
* Folk Museum in Khunyuam City: Remains of military hardwares in World War II, folk arts, handicrafts, household utensils (admission fee 20 Bath)
* Wat Torpae: beautiful temple, hand-made Buddha story knitwear decorated with rubies, folk paintings.
* Hotspring in Pabong.

One-Day Trekking: Baht 2500

* Hauyhee village; trekking to watch birds, orchids, ferns (2 local guide 200 Baht).
* Optional: Home stay overnight in the Kareni Village for those who like to learn about their culture 100 baht per person and food 100 baht per person/meal.
* Optional: Trekking to other villages can be arranged for the longer or shorter distances.
